Bio-LNG is a particularly climate-friendly fuel,
that can supplement and substitute fossil LNG in the future. The widespread production and
production and supply of bio-LNG is currently possible, but is associated with challenges. In the production of bio-LNG, the liquefaction process represents an essential component.
The LNG.Agentur Niedersachsen commissioned a potential study to investigate the synergy effects of importing energy carriers with a potential Lower Saxony LNG terminal.

There are many reasons for using liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a fuel in shipping. Nevertheless, even many years after the first LNG-fuelled ships went into service, there are still numerous challenges and needs for action, which were highlighted and discussed by around 60 shipping company representatives at the cross-border online event "LNG as fuel: Status update" organised by LNG.Agentur Niedersachsen.
LNG.Agentur Niedersachsen looked at how a market establishment of bio-LNG in shipping and heavy road transport can be realised in practice.
The event "LNG Bunker Conference" was organised in cooperation with the Nautitec GmbH & Co. KG to address and discuss the LNG supply concepts for the transport sector.
The event "Bio-LNG in Focus" was organised in cooperation with the German Biogas Association to address and discuss the potential of the production and use of Bio-LNG.
The kickoff served to inform about the project contents and its framework conditions and to give the participants the opportunity to discuss questions, challenges and perspectives for the use of LNG with experts and project managers.
The workshop "LNG Innovation Projects - Evaluation & Market Introduction -" served to evaluate current innovation projects in the context of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and to discuss their market introduction perspectives.
